at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point

Margaret was born August 3, 1911 in Grand Island, NE. to Frank and Margaret 'Waters' Shomshor. She grew up in Grand Island and graduated high school there. After school Margaret moved to Scribner to work for her uncle who owned a café. On November 22, 1931 she married Givin Ehlers in Hooper. The couple lived in Scribner. Margaret raised her family in Scribner. She worked for a brief time at the phone company and also worked at the Scribner Good Samaritan Center. She loved to play cards with the residents and would play what ever card game they wanted. Her favorite was bridge and was an avid bridge player, belonging to several bridge groups in the community, playing as recently as last summer. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the St. Catherine Guild, serving as president.

John and wife Diane Ehlers of Kingwood, Texas
and their children Shelli, Greg, Kierstin and Josh

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Givin in December of 1972, son-in-law Neil Kienbaum, 2 great grandchildren, 1 brother and 2 sisters.

The funeral mass is Friday, 10:30am at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Scribner. The Rev. Damien Wee officiating. Burial is in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery southwest of Scribner. Memorials are suggested to St. Lawrence. Visitation is Thursday, 3pm to 7pm, family present from 6pm to 7pm with a wake service at 7pm all at the church.
