Gerald "Jerry" E. Kruger

March 20, 1937 - February 23, 2018

Gerald E. 'Butch' or 'Jerry' Kruger, 80 of Fremont,
died Friday (Febr. 23rd) in Fremont.

He was born to Rudolph and Ida (Bordner) Kruger in Fremont on March 20, 1937. He grew up in Fremont and attended Fremont schools. From 1956 to 1958 he served in the United States Army, with a tour of duty in Korea. On his return to Fremont he was a truck driver for Campbell Soup Co. Later he moved to Lincoln where he operated heavy equipment for the street department. Butch returned to Fremont this past November.

An avid bowler, he had been inducted into Fremont's Bowling Hall of Fame.

Survivors: sister Molly Rightmyer of Gretna
several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded by sisters and brothers; Herbie Kruger, Alice Peters, Earl Kruger, Tillie Basel, Bob Kruger, Bill Kruger, Betty Steele and Gloria Wilber.

There will be a funeral service Wednesday at 2 PM at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 10 AM until the service at 2 PM. The committal will follow in Ridge Cemetery with Military Honors by the Fremont Honor Guard (American Legion Post 20 & VFW Post 854). Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army.
