Travis C. Freund age 41, of Ames, NE. died peacefully Monday November 23, 2015
at his home surrounded by his family and friends after a valiant battle with brain cancer.

Travis was born August 13, 1974 in Fremont to Dale and Susan 'Mendenhall' Freund. He lived with his family in Columbus and Mitchell, SD. before returning to Fremont. He was a 1993 graduate of Fremont High School and attended college in Lincoln until returning in 1996 to help his father in the family business. He purchased Mid-Continent Irrigation Company in Fremont from his mother in 2010, a "Valley" Irrigation Sales and Service company and had operated it since that time.

Travis was a Certified Irrigation Designer. He was also the recipient of the Mack Kemp Award and Premier Performance Dealer award.

Travis married Angela D. Pickrel on September 8, 2000 in Las Vegas, NV.

Travis is survived by his wife Angela of Ames and her son Skylar King of Omaha; their children Brooklynn and Jackson at home; his Mother Susan Freund of Fremont; 2 sisters Angela Martinez of Omaha and Melissa (Chad) Henggeler of Fremont. He also leaves behind 2 nieces and 4 nephews; brothers-in-law Cary Pickrel and Jacob Pickrel and sister-in-law Rachel Pickrel; Angela's step-mother Ann Pickrel and grandmother Betty Lacey.

Travis was preceded in death by his father Dale, grandparents Jack and Margaret Mendenhall, Bennie and Liola Freund. Travis was also preceded in death by his father-in-law R. David Pickrel.

The funeral mass will be 10:30am Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont with the Rev. Dave Belt officiating. Visitation will be Sunday with the family present from 4pm to 8pm at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Visitation will continue for one hour before the service on Monday. Memorials are suggested to Leap for a Cure, a brain cancer foundation, or St. Patrick's Catholic Church. A private graveside service will be held later.
