Jan M. Hively, age 57 of Fremont
Died Monday March 23, 2020 at home

Jan was born December 10, 1962 in Fremont to Thomas and Phyllis 'Moyer' Klindworth. She was raised in Fremont and graduated from Fremont High School in 1981. After high school Jan began working for the Fremont Area Medical Center, now Methodist Fremont Health and continued to work there until she was unable to continue working last year. She worked in various departments throughout the hospital but she worked the longest as a CNA on 4th floor ICU during the night shift. While she was working she attended UNO for two years until starting a family.

Jan married Greg Hively on November 3, 1984 in Fremont.

Jan had many hobbies. She enjoyed baking and cooking immensely. In the summers, Jan would spend many hours gardening and growing tomatoes. Jan also loved sewing and made a few quilts over her lifetime. Jan always loved to find a good deal. She loved to go to antique shops and go to various Goodwill stores to try to find that special something. Jan loved where she worked and missed working tremendously while going through treatment for cancer. Another thing that was close to Jan's heart was animals. She always advocated for adoptions, and had three wonderful dogs during her lifetime that she adopted. Jan made sure to let her family know that once she passed away she would love to have donations made in her name to an animal rescue organization rather than flowers. The organization that she picked out is listed below.

Jan and I worked together at the hospital after graduating from high school in 1981. Jan and I had many laughs working the night shift at the hospital. I remember her smiles and how quiet she was until you really got to know her.

I truly enjoyed working with you Jan. You were a joy to work with and yes we made that job of ours tolerable. I'm gonna miss you so much.
I remember the garage sales that we went to every weekend the trash that you made into treasure. You and Judy and your Mom and myself, had such fun at those garage sales. We shall do that again when we all meet again little buddy. Tell George and Doodlebug and the rest of the gang that I miss them alot.
One more piece of memory for you, I'm sorry that you were afraid of me when you were a cart pusher for the cafeteria, I always was just teasing you.
Tell we meet again my friend.
    Janice

I was fortunate enough to have known Jan even though we only met a few times. What a wonderful kind, gentle soul. She raised an amazing daughter who we welcomed into our family almost six years ago. I know she will be missed by all but she is now back together with the loved ones who departed before her. She is no longer suffering and resting peacefully.

God chooses the best for a reason.
