Died Tuesday June 26, 2018 at Providence Place in Fremont

Louie was born July 6, 1937 on his grandparents farm southwest of Hooper. He was raised on the farm, attended rural school and graduated from Hooper High School in 1954. He attended the Lincoln School of Commerce for one year then, in 1956 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served until 1958. On April 5, 1959 Louie married Sharon Bartling at Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Winslow and they farmed on the Allerd Panning place, then moved to a farm southwest of Scribner, then to their current location southwest of Hooper (Heywood Farm).

Louie served on the Hooper Co-op Board, Hooper Saddle Club, Everett Township Board and Dodge County FSA Board. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and former council member and served as a leader for the Blue Ribbon 4-H Club.

Louis was preceded in death by his son Danny, brother LeRoy, brothers-in-law Willie Bopp
and Wayne Bartling.

The funeral will be 10am Saturday June 30, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper. Burial will follow in the Hooper Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion Post 18 and VFW Post 10535 of Hooper. Memorials are suggested to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Fremont Area Alzheimer's Collaboration or Dodge County Fair. Visitation will be Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church from 4pm to 8pm with the family present from 6pm to 8pm.
