Joanie, I so wanted to be at George's Memorial today but the flooding stopped me. I will always remember you in the apt. bldg. at 830 W 10th. My parents loved being around you both. I hope and pray that you will be ok now.

I knew George in grade school and later I worked with him at Hormel's in 1949. We were together again when we entered the Army in 1953. He was in my squar during basic training. I didn't see him again until a class reunion in 1994. I always had great respect for George and enjoyed the few minutes we spent chatting , so late in life. He was and will be remember as a fine person. My best to those who are still here. Alan
