Marilyn K. Thilges, age 65, of Fremont;
died Saturday in Dunklau Gardens, Fremont.

Marilyn was born December 22, 1950 in Fremont to Kenneth and Margie (Metschke) Andreasen. She grew up in Fremont, graduating from Fremont High School in 1969. She attended the CE School of Commerce in Omaha, graduating in 1970, and was chosen as the Queen of the CE School Ball.

She spent 30 years in banking in Fremont, first working for the First State Bank, then US Bank (formerly First National), and retiring from the Fremont National Bank (now known as First National).

Marilyn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Hannah Circle. She also had worked part time in the church office. Marilyn had varied interests including camping, fishing, gardening, crafts, shopping, and taking care of others. She was always putting other people and their needs ahead of herself. Other activities included playing softball, volleyball, and bowling. She loved to travel, having been on many trips within the United States and outside the states, including trips to Ireland. Marilyn and her husband were Harley Davidson Motorcycle riders, having ridden thousands of miles on several trips. Some of the time Marilyn rode her own bike.

On November 6, 1971, Marilyn was married to Robert Thilges and Fremont has been their home.

Marilyn was preceded by her parents, Kenneth and Margie Andreasen.

The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Wednesday (Febr. 24th) at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. David Coe. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Diabetes Foundation and Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Tuesday (today), 4 to 8 PM, with family present, 6 to 8 PM. at the Ludvigsen Mortuary.
