Robert "Bob" C. Hallowell, age 89, of Fremont Died Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Methodist Fremont Hospital
Bob was born November 30, 1931 to Clarence and Nora (Arps) Hallowell in North Bend, Nebraska. He graduated from Snyder High School in 1950. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served at Edwards Air Force Base from 1951 to 1955. Bob married Lois Ann (Beaumont) on June 2, 1957 in Snyder, Nebraska. Together they had 2 children, David and Barbara. Bob held positions at several places of business before going to work for Jayhawk Boxes in 1958 as Plant Foreman. After 36 years of service, he retired from Jayhawk Boxes in 1994.
Bob enjoyed bowling, playing golf, and taking his kids and grandkids fishing at Lake Benton in Minnesota. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the American Legion, and the Fremont Eagles Club. People who loved him most will remember his generosity and compassion for others.
Bob is survived by his Wife, Lois Ann; Son, David (Pam) Hallowell of Lincoln; Daughter, Barbara (Tom) Hoesing of Fremont; 5 Grandchildren, J.D. Hallowell, Tara (Ben) Decker, Anna (Cody) Kavan, Kristen (fiance', Ryan Borg) Hoesing, Jacob Hoesing; 4 Great Grandchildren, Trent, Lauryn, and Jack Hallowell, Elsie Kavan; Brother-in-law, Gary (Cindy) Beaumont of Omaha; several nieces and a nephew.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Nora; sister, Vivian White and her husband, Harold; sister, Esther Woodcock; Brother-in-law, Ed Beaumont; Daughter-in-law, Jeanette "Jan" Hallowell.
The memorial service will be 10:30am, Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. Anthony Gerber will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Cemetery.
