Paul Siems

Paul was born on August 3, 1926 in a farm house in Platte Center, Nebraska to John and Edith (Hobbensiefken) Siems. He lived in Fremont and Columbus before moving to California and then to Canada. Paul graduated from the Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills Alberta, Canada, then returned to Fremont to attend Midland College, where he lettered in basketball in 1943-44.
He was drafted into the army in 1944 and was stationed at Fort Sill, OK; Fort Bragg, NC; and Camp Shelby, MS. Upon separation from the military he returned to Nebraska and got his pilot's license in Lincoln. Then he began working for his father at the Fremont Municipal Airport as a spray pilot, flight instructor, charter pilot, and flight examiner.
Paul met Joyce Mae Brand in early 1949, and the two were married on August 12, 1950. In 1966, he took over Siems Aero Aiders, the fixed based operation at the Fremont airport, from his father and continued to operate the airport until retiring in the mid 1980's.
Survivors: wife - Joyce 3 sons - Craig and wife Deb Siems of Berthoud, Colorado Brian Siems, of Fremont Scott and wife Dawn Siems of Fremont 7 grandchildren - Angie Prochaska, and Shane, Nathan, Alex, Jeremy, Andrew, and Jerika Siems 6 great grandchildren 2 brothers - Tom and wife Mary Siems of Arvada, Colorado Richard Siems of Fremont
Preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
