Juanita Bruhn

Juanita was born August 16, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri to Carl and Eva (Brown) Pressly. She grew up there and graduated from high school in Kansas City. She went to work for Columbia Pictures in Chicago and and then Colorado.
On December 20, 1953, Juanita was married to Wilbur 'Bud' Bruhn in Kansas City. They lived in Kansas City until moving to Falls City, Nebraska in 1965. There Juanita worked for the county extension agent. The couple moved to Fremont in 1968 where Bud was a supervisor for the Job Service. Juanita worked for the Social Security office in Fremont and then in Omaha when the Fremont office was closed. She retired in 1988.
Juanita was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church where she worked with the special classes. She wrote the confirmation curriculum for the special classes of the church, and she was also a Sunday school teacher. She was a past president of the Dodge County ARC in the 1970's and 80's.
She was preceded in death by her husband in February of 2002, and a sister Gerry Weldon, and 3 nephews.
Survivors: 2 sons - Carl Bruhn and Bill Bruhn both of Fremont daughter - Dr. Karen Bruhn and husband Douglas Ryan of Tempe, Arizona 1 grandson - Samuel Carl Ryan of Tempe nieces and nephews
The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Wednesday (April 27th) at St. Timothy Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Plowman officiating. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and the Dodge County ARC.
Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be on Tuesday (April 26th) from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM.
