BettyLou Hammond, age 92, of Fremont
Died Sunday, October 27, 2024 at Pathfinder Place in Fremont.
BettyLou was a kind and loving woman and mother who cared deeply for everyone around her. She was beloved by everyone who knew her up to her passing. She lived a long life filled with some happiness, trials, and troubles, but she persevered. She lived in many different places throughout the US, but her favorite was Hawaii, where she spent much of her childhood.
She was married twice and had five children. From her 1st marriage, there are two sons, Richard (Marge) Thompson, Penn Valley, CA. Gerald Duan Thompson, Beaumont, TX, deceased. One daughter, Diane Lynne (Michael) Lund, Pleasant Hill, Iowa. 5 Grandchildren, Carrie (Chris) Smith, Port Ritchie, FL. Eric (Megan) Downing, Ashland, NE. Davon and Byron Thompson, Penn Valley, CA., Chloe Thompson, Beaumont, TX. 6 Great Grandchildren. Rowan and Riley Smith. Taylor, Jaycee, Caden, and Caleb Downing.
From her second marriage, she has a son, Mike (Kris) Hammond, and a daughter, Sally (Steve) Hultman. Sally has two children, Scott and Sam Hultman.
Her favorite things were sewing, crafting, cleaning and caring for her house and family, and watching nature shows… and judge shows. Earlier in her life, she was an avid reader. Later in life, her nickname was the ''Old Goat,'' which her son gave her for reasons only he knew.
We will all miss her for a long `me to come. She was kind, sweet, caring, and loving and touched the lives of everyone who knew her. We'll all think about her in quiet moments when we feel the gentle touch she gave all of us.
A memorial service will be 10am, Friday, November 1, 2024 at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont.
