Douglas D Haase

March 1, 1941 - October 29, 2024

Douglas Dean Haase, age 83, of Fremont Nebraska, passed away October 29th, 2024, with his children by his side at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont.

Doug was born March 1st, 1941, in North Bend Nebraska, to Clarence and Lillian Haase. He was raised in North Bend and graduated from North Bend High School. On July 2nd, 1960, he married Carol Kaplan. Doug served in the United States Navy and was stationed in the Philippines, San Diego and San Francisco, CA. After living in San Diego with his wife, they moved to Millard for a brief time before settling in Fremont to raise their family. Doug worked for Western Electric/AT&T/Lucent for more than 40 years.

Doug enjoyed bowling, tennis, and in retirement he loved to golf as often as he could. He enjoyed spending time at the lake, trips with the Corvette club, winters in Yuma Arizona, farming with a lifelong buddy, or just getting together with friends.

Doug was a man of many talents, everything from playing the saxophone in high school or bass guitar in the 70's, singing in a barbershop quartet in the 80's, and in his later years you could always find him sitting at his little desk in the garage creating ''something''.

However, his greatest talent was being a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

He is preceded in death by his wife Carol and his parents.

He is survived by his children: Jim (Tonya) Haase, Barb (Scott) Feldhacker. Grandchildren: Caroline Haase, Austin (Whitney) Haase, Torey Kogel, Dillon Feldhacker and Wyatt (Maren) Feldhacker. Great-grandchildren: Anna, Jude, John, Vincent, Weston and Kaplan. Niece: Nicole (Dan) Dolan (Charli, Addison, George) and many dear friends.

A visitation will be held at Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont with family receiving guests on Sunday, November 3rd from 2:00-4:00pm.

Funeral Services will be held at Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Scott Jensen officiating on Monday November 4th at 10:00am. Coffee and pastries be provided following the service. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the charity of your choice. Military Honors by the Fremont Honor Guard will take place at the funeral home.
A private family burial will be held at Killian Cemetery in Morse Bluff, Nebraska.
