Lawrence "Larry" L. Jahrmarkt

March 1, 1934 - October 6, 2025

Larry Jahrmarkt passed away peacefully with his wife, Carol, by his side on October 6, 2025, in Fremont Nebraska.

Larry Lee Jahrmarkt was born on March 1, 1934, in a small farmhouse just outside Snyder, Nebraska. Larry's parents, Clarence and Marguerite raised three boys: Donald Dean, Lawrence Lee, and Richard Ray on the farm. Larry graduated from Scribner High School and played basketball at Midland College for one year before joining the Navy.

Larry and Carol celebrated 70 years of marriage last fall. He and Carol lived in Phoenix, Arizona for their entire careers before retiring to the Cornhusker state 25 years ago. As part of their life journey, they raised their two children, Lynette and Michael. Their daughter Lynette was born in 1955, and their son was born six years later.

Lynette is survived by three beautiful children: Danette, Laurie, and Stephanie and 8 beautiful grandchildren. Their son, Mike and his wife Holly, have four sons: Cole, Samuel, Nathan and Graham. Larry and Carol delighted in their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Larry absolutely loved living in Nebraska following his retirement. He was a devoted Nebraska Cornhusker football fan and enjoyed the seasonal sports, especially basketball and baseball.

Larry is remembered today as a devoted and faithful Christian man, a great husband to his ''sweetheart'' Carol, a loving father, and a super-duper grandfather (Papa). He was always ready to serve his family, his friends and those who simply needed help or support.

Larry was marked by kindness, joy, patience, wisdom, and an incredible wit and sense of humor. He cherished taking communion with is pastor and church family at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper, Nebraska. Throughout his life when he was asked how he was doing, his answer was always, ''Couldn't Be Better!'' He was a man truly marked by contentment and firmly rooted in his faith.

From the Jahrmarkt family, thank you Kay Pronske (Larry's sister-in-law) and the entire Hooper community who have loved Larry and Carol so deeply and served them so well.

To a life well lived!
