Karolyn Cernik

Karolyn was born to Carl and Meta (Giesselmann) Sommers on September 22, 1934 in Fremont. She had attended Trinity Lutheran School, and graduated from Fremont High School.
On May 14, 1955, Karolyn was married to Kenneth E. Cernik. They met when both were employed at Hormel's. Later she was employed by Pendleton Woolen Mills in Fremont. Following her husband's retirement, they were the caretakers at the Fremont Anglers for several years.
Karolyn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she had been baptized, confirmed, and married. She loved being in the outdoors. And baking cookies with her great granddaughter, brought her much joy.
Karolyn was preceded in death by her husband Ken on June 15, 1999, by her parents Carl and Meta Sommers, and by her sister Bernice Coad.
Survivors: 2 daughters - Terri and husband Randy Meyer Pam and husband Albert Nielsen 4 grandchildren - Carl and wife Becky Bobbie and husband Ed Trapp Jason and wife Sheila Meyer Karleen Meyer 1 great granddaughter - Megan Nielsen, all of Fremont
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday (Febr. 11th) at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dan Heuer officiating. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. There is no public visitation. Memorials are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Early Childhood Development Center and to the Fremont Rural Fire Dept. online guestbook at www.Ludvigsenmortuary.com
