Jeanice Hershey

Jeanice was born January 24, 1926 at Hutchinson, Kansas to Everette and Jessie (Harris) Moore. She lived most of her childhood years in Omaha, and graduated from Omaha North High School.
On January 17, 1947, Jeanice was married in Omaha to Ralph Hershey. They lived in Tekamah, Nebraska before moving to Fremont in 1952. Her husband worked for the telephone company. She went to work in the bookstore at Midland College (now Midland University), later becoming the manager, and then retiring after 20 years there.
Jeanice was a very active member of the First Baptist Church, serving on many of the committees. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and was active in their many activities, one of which was assisting with the annual 'Spookarama' at Ponca State Park in northeast Nebraska. She and her husband Ralph and family enjoyed their many camping trips, (beginning with camping in small tents, then larger tents, camping trailers, and then motor homes. Membership in Arbor Vitae Chapter 92, Order of the Eastern Star was another of her activities.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph in August of 1985, and daughter Cheryl in 1969.
Survivors: daughter - Nancy and husband Jim Clausen of Yutan son - Raymond and wife Roxanne Hershey of Olympia, Washington 2 grandchildren - Ryan Hershey of Spokane, Washington Jennifer and husband Walker Sayre of Beaverton, Oregon sister - Jean and husband Dale Stouder of Grand Junction, Colorado
The funeral service will be 11 AM Monday (Febr. 7th, 2011) in the First Baptist Church, Fremont with the Rev. Gundar Lamberts and Rev. Leland Foreman officiating. The committal will be in Memorial Cemetery. There is no public visitation. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church. Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, is in charge of the arrangements.
