Thomas H. Klindworth

Thomas was born February 28, 1933 near Milburn, Nebraska to John and Orvia (Kehler) Klindworth. He grew up on a ranch near Merna, Nebraska in Custer County and graduated from Merna High School. Later he attended the Milford Technical School and studied welding.
He served in the United States Army from June of 1953 to May of 1955.
On June 29, 1957, he was married in Seward, Nebraska to Phyllis Moyer. They lived briefly in Omaha, then Blair, before moving to Fremont in 1959. Thomas had been a welder for Independent Metal Co., which became Fruehauf Trailer Co. He went to work for Hormel's in Fremont in 1959 and retired from there in 1993.
He was a member of VFW Post 854 of Fremont and the Fremont Eagles Aerie 200.
Survivors: wife - Phyllis 2 daughters - Judy and husband Shawn Brooks of Fremont Jan and husband Greg Hively of Fremont 1 son - Robert Klindworth of Fremont 4 grandchildren 1 great grandson 3 step great grandchildren 3 sisters - Ruby Christen of Anselmo Iris Prell of New Castle, Wyo. Kathryn Scot of Hot Springs, So. Dakota and many nieces and nephews
The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Friday (July 30th, 2010) in the First Lutheran Church, 3200 E. Military, Fremont, with the Rev. Matt Knopf officiating. The committal will follow in Ridge Cemetery with Military Honors by the Fremont Honor Guard of American Legion Post 20 and VFW Post 854. Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.
Visitation will be today, Thursday, July 29th, at the Ludvigsen Mortuary from 2 to 8 PM. and on Friday morning at the church for an hour before the service.
