She was born February 21, 1914, in Fremont to Shelby and Hettie (Griffiths) Phillips.
She married Henry R. Knoell January 30, 1934, in Pierce, Nebraska. He preceded her in death in 1993.
The couple lived on the farm near Ames, NE all their working years. They retired and moved into Fremont in 1967.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church, where she belonged to the Hope Circle. She was a Red Cross Volunteer for twenty years at the Fremont Area Medical Center.

Survivors include: two daughters, Phyllis (and husband, Carroll) Schurman, of Nickerson, and Kay (and husband, Don) Schwock of Atlanta, Georgia; four grandchildren; five great-grand children; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be 2 PM Monday (March 1, 2010) at the First Lutheran Church (3200 E. Military) with the Rev. Charlie Axness officiating. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to her church.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be on Sunday (Febr. 28th) from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 4 to 6 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday at the church for an hour before the service.
