Delmar AkerlundJanuary 20, 2010Delmar was born on the family farm near Valley, Nebraska, on July 18, 1922. In January 1946 he married Merle Christensen of Hooper, Nebraska. He remained on the family farm all of his life, cultivating the land that he loved so much. In 1967 he began pioneering the organic farming method. The experience he gained in organic farming provided a wealth of valuable knowledge to agriculture. Over the years articles about his farm appeared in several national magazines, and people from all over the world toured his farm to learn more about organic farming. Obituary Provided By: |
