Vivian was born March 10, 1916 on the family farm southwest of Scribner to George and Lydia (Miller) Hansen. She grew up attending grade school at school district 30, and then graduating from Scribner High School in 1933.

On February 5, 1936, Vivian was married to Leland Bode in Hooper. They lived on a farm southwest of Scribner until moving into Fremont in 1970. Vivian was a homemaker and enjoyed dancing, bowling, and playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leland in December of 1987, by her brothers Leo Hansen, Lanny Studt, and son-in-law Lavon Meyer.

Survivors: 2 sons - Merlyn Bode and special friend Sharon McCabe of Fremont
Keith and wife Sherry Bode of Fremont
2 daughters - Joan and husband Dean Beck of Scribner
Jane and husband Myron Fischer of Scribner
9 grandchildren
18 great grandchildren
3 great, great grandchildren
brother - Larry Studt of West Point
sister-in-law - Virginia Studt of Fremont

The funeral will be 10:00A.M. Saturday January 23 at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont with the Rev. Michael Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 2pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Salem Lutheran Church.
