Meta H Breithaupt
March 21, 1913 - January 21, 2013
Meta was born March 21, 1913 on the family farm near Arlington, Nebraska where she grew up. Her parents were August and Martha (Knecht) Hokamp. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church north of Arlington. She had attended the Hartman School.
On May 14, 1939, Meta was married in the parsonage of St. Paul's Lutheran Church to John Breithaupt. They lived in Fremont most of their married years.
During her working years, Meta had worked for Rogers Tent & Awning in Fremont during the war years. She also worked for the Fremont Hatchery, Arbor Manor for several years, she did sewing, and she volunteered at the Trinity Lutheran Day Care.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Meta was preceded in death by her husband John in April of 1961, and by her daughter Verda Brandert, and by 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Survivors: 2 sons Gordon and wife Gloria Breithaupt of Fremont Duane Breithaupt of Lincoln son-in-law Vernon Brandert of Hooper 5 grandchildren Melanie Brandert of Fremont Marcia and husband Sean Holloway of Houston, Texas, Michael Brandert of Des Moines, Iowa Kristy and husband Steven Broers of Fontanelle, Iowa and Darcy and husband Nathan Metschke of Neligh, Nebraska 5great grandchildren Sophia, Malachi, and Micah Broers Madison and Benson Metschke 1 sister Norma and husband Elmer Katt of Herman
The funeral service will be 2 PM Friday (January 25, 2013) at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dan Heuer. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, on Thursday from 2 to 8 PM with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM.
