Richard "Dick" L. Finley
July 16, 1931 - September 25, 2013
was born July 16, 1931 in Wahoo to Raymond and Bertha (Aspengren) Finley. Dick was raised in Wahoo where he graduated from high school in 1949. He received his bachelor's degree from Midland College in Fremont.
Dick had worked for Hormel's in Fremont while attending Midland College. He became a salesman for Hormel's and remained with them until he retired. He served in the Nebraska National Guard from April of 1949 to September of 1956.
Dick was a member of First Lutheran Church. He volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and the Dodge County Humane Society. He traveled in his later years and enjoyed dancing and big band music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and Raymond, and a sister, Elaine Hass and her husband Don.
Survivors: brother Larry and wife Bonnie Finley of Omaha several nieces, nephews, and very close friends
The funeral service will be 1 PM Friday (Sept. 27, 2013) at First Lutheran Church (3200 E. Military) in Fremont. The committal will be in Sunrise Cemetery at Wahoo. Visitation is today (Thursday, Sept. 26th) at the Ludvigsen Mortuary from 3 to 8, with the family present from 4 to 6 PM.
Memorials are suggested to the Habitat for Humanity and the Dodge County Humane Society.
