Geraldine Faye McColloch, 93, of Fremont, formerly of Burlington, Iowa;
died Sunday (Oct. 27, 2013) in Shalimar Gardens, Fremont.
She was born December 15, 1919 in Dallas, Iowa, the daughter of James and Nytha (Vernon) Phillips. On May 10, 1941, she married Warren McColloch in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2002.
Geraldine was a graduate of Burlington High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethany Lutheran Church of Burlington and it's ALCW, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. After moving to Fremont following her husband's death, she became a member of First Lutheran Church. She was an avid painter and reader.
Survivors include two brothers, Arthur (Shirley) Phillips of Cheyenne, Wyoming and James (Ruth) Phillips of Austin, Minnesota, brother-in-law Melvin Schneider of Fremont, and nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jerrilyn McColloch, her parents, and two sisters who were Fremont residents, Dorothy (Sheldon) Christensen and Jo Ann Schneider.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 1st, at the Lunning Chapel in Burlington. The graveside service and committal will be at 2 p.m. Friday (Nov. 1st) in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, with Pastor Rick Biedermann officiating. The Ludvigsen Mortuary is assisting the family with Fremont arrangements.
