Loran was born January 29, 1928 at his parents home and grew up on a farm northeast of Scribner, NE. He graduated from Scribner High School in 1946.
On April 24, 1949, Loran was married to Jane Ann Heath in the Salem Lutheran Church at Fontanelle, NE. They lived on a farm northeast of Scribner, until moving to Scribner in 1968. Loran was engaged in farming and raising cattle with his father and later was employed by Hillside Dairy as a farm manager.
Loran enjoying bowling in his younger years and he and Jane loved to dance. He was active in caring for his church. Loran also enjoyed playing cards. As his family grew, he loved to see his children and their families at the frequent holiday gatherings at his home.

Patty and husband Steve Smith of Vermillion, SD

He was preceded in death by his wife Jane, parents William and Ona Pfeiffer and brother Duane Pfeiffer.
The family will be receiving friends at the Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont on Friday, December 18, from 4-7 PM, however there will be no viewing.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, December 19th, at 2 PM at the United Lutheran Church in Scribner, NE with the Rev. Dr. Nicki McIntrye officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
