Gary P. Jessen, age 72, of Fremont,
entered God's eternal resting place at Nye Legacy on Wednesday, Dec. 16th, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Gary was born April 6, 1943 in Fremont to Herman and Elsie (Hageman) Jessen. He grew up in Cedar Bluffs and graduated from high school there in 1960. Gary worked briefly for Nick Neff Motors, which became Diers
Ford Dealership. Then on November 1, 1964 his employment with Hormel's began. He retired in July of 2000.

Gary served in the US Army reserves from 1963 to 1969. Gary was a coin collector. He was member of the First Baptist Church. On March 26, 1965, Gary was married in that church to Yvonne Neufind. Fremont has been their home.

sister-in-law- Joanne Jessen of Fremont
brother-in-law Terry and wife Trudy Neufind of Millard
best friend Arnie Gienau
many nieces, nephews, cousins and the Jessen Angels
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Elsie, brothers Alan, Dean, and Glen, and his wife's parents, Donald and Marian Neufind.

The funeral service will be 10 AM Tuesday, Dec. 22nd at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Leland Foreman and Pastor Brad Wiese. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church and the Fremont's Hope Center. Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary will be Monday from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM.

    So very sorry to hear that Gary had passed away. Enjoyed ushering with him at church, and hanging out and visiting with him as well. Didn't know he collected coins, would have been neat to talk about coins, as I have collected coins over the years. You will be missed Gary Jessen. Our prayers go out to Yvonne and all the family.
