Died Friday January 15, 2016 at the Scribner Good Samaritan Center.
Zita Mae was born April 19, 1924 in Dunning, Nebraska to Rex and Effie 'Grossman' Foote. She attended rural school through the eighth grade and graduated from Dunning High School in 1942. Upon graduation she moved to California where she was a 'Rosie The Riveter' at Northrop Aircraft. She moved back to the Sandhills and married Albert Thomas on August 16, 1947. In 1957 they moved to Scribner and raised 5 children. She was a homemaker and worked as a nursing home aide at the Good Samaritan Center. Zita was a member of the Ladies Extension, Pollyannas, Tri C's, Red Hat Society and United Church of Christ. She enjoyed traveling, bus trips, coffee clubs, cross word puzzles, reading and time together with family.

Zita Mae was preceded in death by her husband in 2013, parents, sister Rexine, 2 infant sisters, brother-in-law Jiggs and son-in-law Scott.
The funeral will be 2:30pm Monday at the United Church of Christ in Scribner. Pastor Larry Jirsak will officiate. Burial will follow in the Scribner Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Scribner Good Samaritan Center or Donor's choice. Visitation will be Sunday from 2pm to 6pm with the family present from 2pm to 4pm at Ludvigsen Scribner Funeral Chapel.
