died late Saturday (Nov. 5, 2016)in Dunklau Gardens.
Betty was born to Louis and Elsie (Francis) Weidner in Fremont on July 29, 1921. She grew up in Fremont and graduated from Fremont High School in 1939.
During her working years she was a bookkeeper for several area businesses including Brackett Motors, Hipke Cleaners, Charleston's, Farnum Co. in Omaha, and her husband's Christensen Body Shop in Fremont. Her job after retiring was at the Keene Memorial Library.
She had served on the Election Board several years and was a census taker for the government. She was a leader for the cub scouts and girl scouts. Betty was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the VFW Post 854 Auxiliary, the DOES. She was also in the Bowling Hall of Fame and the Women's Softball Hall of Fame. As her husband Dale, was receiving training at various military stations, she went with him and found employment with the civil service. She enjoyed camping, boating, and the Huskers, attending her last Husker Football game at age 92.
On January 16, 1943, Betty and Dale Christensen were married in the parsonage of the First United Methodist Church in Fremont. Dale died on May 11, 2003. She was also preceded by a brother-Louis Weidner, 3 sisters- Frances Best, Bonnie Weiche, and Elsie Mae Carstensen.

A memorial service will be 10AM. Thursday (Nov. 10th) at the First United Methodist Church. The committal will follow in Ridge Cemetery. There is no viewing, however the family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel. Memorials are suggested to her church.
