Mildred was born March 1, 1921 in Scribner to John and Martha 'Froemming' Mauch. She was raised in Scribner and attended St. Peter's Lutheran School in Scribner then Scribner High School. Mildred married Edwin Ruwe on June 16, 1945. After their marriage the couple lived in Hooper. Mildred did ironing and baby sitting for families in the area for over 30 years. In addition to raising her own five children she also helped in raising three of her grandchildren, Brian, Brett and Breanna.
Up until her death, Mildred was the longest active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner. She loved playing cards and bingo and made the best peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with her own homemade bread. Mildred had recently been a resident of the Scribner Good Samaritan Center.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, son Mark, grandson-in-law Nate, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
The funeral will be 10am Monday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner. The Rev. Bruce Schut will officiate. Burial will follow the lunch in the Hooper Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Katie Comfort Dog Ministry at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lutheran Hour, St. Peter's Lutheran Church and Scribner Good Samaritan Center. Visitation will be in Hooper at Ludvigsen's Hooper Funeral Chapel on Sunday from 1pm to 5pm with the family present from 1pm to 3pm. Visitation will continue for one hour before the service at the church in Scribner.
