Mary's early years were spent helping her family on the dairy farms where her father worked. In May, 1946, she met a handsome, young serviceman stationed at nearby Camp McCoy in Wisconsin. Mary and Percy Perry were married on November 4, 1946, and in 1947 they settled in Cozad, Nebraska where their two daughters, Linda Louise and Gloria Jean, were born.
The young family moved to Waterloo, Nebraska where Mary worked at the local drug store, which she later purchased and renamed Perry's Sundries. After retiring to Fremont, Nebraska, Percy and Mary enjoyed traveling around the country, visiting family and friends.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Percy, who died the day before their 67th wedding anniversary, brothers Russell, Cecil, Henry 'Mike', William, Zelotis, and Walter, Jr., sisters Beulah Normandin, Elvira Robertson, Marjorie Nehring and Violet Parker, and son-in-law David Bigley.
Mary is survived by daughters Linda Bigley of Colorado Springs, CO and Gloria (Dave) Lamm of Arlington, NE; four grandchildren, Joilyn (Doug) Sinclair of Atchison, KS, Sean Terry of Raymore, MO, Amy (Dennis)Dempster of Kalispell, MT, and Scott (Melissa) Lamm of Mableton, GA; six great grandchildren, Katelyn Sinclair, Nicholas Sinclair, Megan Lamm, Keira Lamm, Sam Pimpl, and Kiera Burrous, her brother Kenneth, and many nieces and nephews.
A service will be held in her honor on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 2 PM at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel with viewing directly preceding at 1 PM. Memorials may be directed to the family for distribution to charities close to Mary's heart. The committal will be in the Cozad, Nebraska cemetery.
