Anona was born May 29, 1918 in Cuming County to Walter and Katherine 'Havekost' Grosc. At the age of 5 the family moved to a farm near Wakefield where she was raised and attended school. She graduated from Wakefield High School and then attended Luther College for a year. After college she taught in rural schools in Dodge County until her marriage. She married Lawrence Meyer on February 18, 1945.

After her marriage the couple moved to a farm north of Hooper. Years later Anona went back to school and received her Bachelor's Degree from what is now Midland University. In 1974 the couple moved to a smaller farm closer to Hooper then in 2004 Anona moved to Nye Square in Fremont.

  1. Karen (Havekost) Licht
Love and Prayers are extended to the Meyer family. Your mother and my mother, Alice Havekost were very good friends through Church and Extension Club. Our families have been friends through the years growing up in the farming neighborhood north of Hooper. May the Lord bless you with the peace and comfort only He can give, and may it comfort us to know our loved ones are safe in the arms of the Savior in that glorious place called heaven. Sincerely, Karen (Havekost) Licht
