She was born in Fremont on November 23, 1952, to Joe Kotik Sr. and Trevia (Temple) Kotik. She was raised in the Fremont area along with her siblings: Joe Kotik Jr., Larry Kotik, John Kotik, Jerry Kotik, Anna McClem, Mary Gable, Nola Mork, Cle Sampson, and Barb Jacobs.
On June 15, 1979, Ellie married Carl Friedrich. Together they had two children; Chad Friedrich of Fremont and Amanda (Mike) Wargo of Indiana. She had four grandchildren, Camdon Friedrich, Chase Friedrich, Nathan Wargo and Owen Wargo.
She worked primarily in housekeeping at the Fremont hospital. Later she worked as a bus-person at Al's Cafe. She loved working with people and made many friends.
Ellie had a passion for fishing. It was not uncommon to find her with at least two poles in the water at a time. She also loved her dogs. They were like additional children in her view. She was a strong woman with a passion for her family. While she was able, she would have done anything to help those around her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter and friend.
Ellie was preceded in death by her father and parents-in-law, Clinton and Dorothy Friedrich, and sister, Barb Jacobs.
A Celebration of Life will be set at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the Dodge County Humane Society.

Wichita, KS Monday, February 12, 2018 Ellie was a wonderful and VERY BRAVE woman. She jumped into a runaway car and saved my precious young daughters from what could have been a very serious car accident. This happened 42 years ago, but I have never forgotten her bravery. I never knew her before that day, but kept in contact with her all the years since. I am so very sad to receive the news of her passing. Rest in peace, Ellie. I love you.Debra Foster
