Florence was born August 29, 1916, the third of three children, on the family farm east of Winslow, to Gustav and Anna (Langewisch) Panning. She grew up on the farm and attended Immanuel Lutheran School. After her schooling she stayed on the farm and helped her mother and father. When her older brother took over the farm, Florence moved with her parents into Winslow, where she continued to help her parents. After her father passed away, Florence received her GED in 1951 and began working at Gamble's Warehouse in Fremont. After Gamble's closed, she went to work at JC Penney until she retired due to eyesight problems. During her working years, she moved into Fremont with her mother and continued to care for her until she passed away. She continued to live in Fremont until moving back to Hooper in 1999 to live with her sister. For the last several years she has resided at the Hooper Care Center.
Florence was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Winslow. She was a past member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Winslow, Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont, where she was one of the first organists when it opened.
Florence is survived by seven nieces and one nephew:
Janelle and husband Larry Wulf of Hooper
LaRae and husband Marvin Plessing of Fremont
Ardeth and husband Leon Blomendahl of Fremont
Marilyn Jahnke of Grand Island
Eileen and husband Ed Soll of Tucson, AZ.
Eleanor and husband Bob Bockholt of Littleton, CO.
Linda Hyson of Catlett, VA.
Lee and wife Donna Panning of Fremont
and many great nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and brother in law Floma (Arthur) Hagerbaumer,

To Florence's loved ones, I am sorry about Florence's passing. I enjoyed getting acquainted with her while my Mom (Betty Heller) was living at the Hooper Care Center, and discovered she is the Aunt of my classmate, Linda Panning (Logan View Class of 1970). I enjoyed visiting with Florence--she was always so pleasant and friendly. The last time I visited at the Care Center, she was not feeling well so I didn't get a chance to talk with her. May God Bless you all during these difficult days and during the upcoming Holidays. Nancy Heller
