Died Thursday, September 29, 2022 at home.
Valerie was born February 5, 1968 to Edwin and Janet 'Urek' Vandenberg. She grew up in Plattsmouth and went to Plattsmouth middle school through the 8th grade. She then received her GED in 1987. In 1989 she met Dennis Himes and they married February 17, 1998. Together they had 3 children, Heather, Joshua and Ashley, and in October of 2014 she was reunited with her son Jon.
Valerie worked at Eppley Airfield as a cashier and auditor from 1997 to 2007. Valerie enjoyed spending time with family, music and going to concerts. She also enjoyed collecting dolls and watching old classic movies. In addition to her children Valerie had 8 grandchildren that she loved and cherished, and always wanted to spend as much time with as she could.

Sister - Veronica (Michael) Bannister of Fremont
Valerie was preceded in death by her mother Janet, grandparents Everett and Lena Vandenberg, aunt and uncle Laura and Dwayne Brower.
The memorial service will be 10:30am, Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the family.
