Vernon A. Geisler, age 76, of Hooper
Died April 14, 2023 in Tennessee

Vernon, a child of God, was born November 15, 1946 to Marvin and Frieda Geisler. He graduated from Hooper High School in 1965. He married Judy Meierhenry on October 10, 1969. His passion was farming, a keeper of God's good earth. He always said, ''If I didn't like it, I wouldn't do it''. A servants heart to Immanuel and the community. Vernon was a life long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed singing with the 'Kings Men' quartet as a baritone. He was a member of the church choir and held many offices within the church, serving as the longest tenured trustee. He was a member of LLL (Lutheran Laymen's League) serving as President of zone 4, and served as Sunday School Superintendent. Vernon was a member of the Washington County Farm Bureau and served on the FSA board. He was a self-proclaimed jack of all trades and master of none. He also served for 4 years with the 1012th Army Reserve.

Vernon is survived by his wife Judy, sons Eric and Ethan, brother Leonard, sisters-in-law Jo (Orvin) Scheer and Tuts (Phil) Katt.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Frieda, in-laws Harold and Ole Meierhenry, brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Anita Geisler and sister-in-law Barb Geisler.

The memorial service will be 2pm, Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Winslow. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. A celebration of Vernon's life will follow the burial at 3pm in the school gymnasium with a time to share stories and share desserts.
