Joan O. Bushkofsky, 86, of Fremont, Formerly of Hooper
Passed peacefully, July 11, 2023 at Nye Courte in Fremont.

Joan was born on November 1, 1936 in Hooper, Nebraska to Alice (Nelsen) and Arthur (Bill) Ott.
Joan grew up in Hooper with 8 brothers and sisters. She graduated from Hooper High School in 1954 and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to work as a secretary. Joan met a young airman, Loren Bushkofsky, who was stationed at the Lincoln Air Force Base and they married on May 29, 1959. They lived many places until Loren's retirement when they moved back home to Hooper.

Joan worked at a number of local businesses including Wollmer & Warne Funeral Home and Furniture Store, the Ice Cream Parlor and the Hooper Golf Course. She was also a tax preparer for H&R Block in West Point and for Attorney James Gallant in Hooper. Joan was a devoted community servant serving on the Hooper City Council, Hooper Library Board, Hooper Housing Authority, and the West Admah Cemetery Board.

Memory keepers include daughter Allison (Rick) Wilson of Lincoln. Grandson Nicholas Wilson of Lincoln. Sisters Sally (Jed) Oberg of Hooper, Susan (David) Dvorak of Grand Island, brothers Lee (Gerri) Ott of Tekamah, John (Carolyn) Ott of Bellevue, Alan (Ellen) Ott of Hooper, Dean (Pam) Ott of Kearney and many nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her mother and father Alice and Bill, husband Loren, infant sister, brothers and their spouses James (Peggy) Ott of South Sioux City and Rodney (Marge) Ott of Arvada, CO.

Visitation will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper on July 22, 2023 at 9:00AM followed by a celebration of life and luncheon at 10:30AM.

A private family interment of ashes will be at West Admah Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
