Died Wednesday February 14, 2024 at St. Joseph's Hillside Villa in West Point
Lois was born August 24, 1928 in Scribner to Henry 'Pat' and Tracy 'Raddatz' Sevrean. She attended District 44 country school. Lois and her brother Patrick 'Patty' would ride their pony to school since they lived just a short distance. They had wonderful Christmas programs at school and were so well organized that the teacher would sit in the audience with the parents. The bell from the school was bought by United Lutheran Church where it still rings today. Growing up, Lois kept house for her Grandpa and Grandma Sevrean. She graduated from Scribner High School in 1945. In 1946 she worked for Shomshor café for several years. Lois also worked for over 40 years for the election board in the Scribner precinct.
Lois married Leslie 'Les' Von Seggern on June 19, 1949 at St. John's Ridgeley Lutheran Church outside of Scribner. They were in the auctioneering business together. Les was the auctioneer and Lois was the clerk. Lois's mom Tracy Sevrean was also involved sitting in the car and collecting the money, adding all the tickets on a tablet, what a wonderful mom. Lois also assisted Les in the field numerous times. Lois sold Avon products for over 25 years and loved to pass out suckers to the residents at the Scribner Good Samaritan Center. Lois and Vickie also did the flea market at Brownsville, Nebraska for over 20 years, taking her motorhome. They made wonderful and lifelong friends at the flea market with the other vendors, still keeping in touch with some of them. Lois also worked for 19 years at Dan and Tracie's bar called ''Z's Bar''.
One of the things Lois was best known for, was her love of singing for birthdays and anniversaries. She called over 450 people to let them know how special they were yearly. She was considered the 'Hat Lady' where you rarely saw her without her hat on.
Lois was a member of United Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary both in Scribner and long time volunteer with the Orphan Grain Train in Norfolk.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband Les in 2011, daughter Brenda Stern, great grandson Collin and brother Patrick Sevrean.
The funeral will be 10:30am, Monday, February 19, 2024 at United Lutheran Church in Scribner. Burial will follow in the Scribner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, this summer buy flowers and put them in a pot or planter and enjoy them on your porch or patio in memory of Lois. Memorials are suggested to the Scribner Area Foundation, Tabitha Meals on Wheels in Lincoln, Faith Ambassadors or the Orphan Grain Train. Visitation will be Sunday at Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel with the family present from 2pm to 5pm.

BEEMER, NE Friday, February 16, 2024 My Mom was Lois Von Seggern and your Mom became Lois Von Seggern the same day, the same time. Mom and your Mom met on their honeymoons. The both went the same place for their honeymoons and that's how they became friends. I remember your Mom coming to my Mom's funeral. My husband always remembered her as the Hat Lady. Whenever we would see her he always commented on her hats. She was a wonderful woman, Mom spoke about her often.
