DeAnn Christine Stover, 58, of Lincoln passed away March 27, 2024.

She was born November 27, 1965, in Fremont, NE, to Irvin and Judith (Weickum) Stover. DeAnn was raised on the family farm east of Uehling, NE, and graduated in 1984 from Logan View Jr/Sr High School. She graduated With Distinction from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she was admitted to the Phi Beta Kappa honorary society.

DeAnn was the owner of Stover Law Office in Lincoln, NE. She was a graduate of the University of Nebraska School of Law, and a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association.
Surviving family members include her father, Irvin Stover; sister Katherine (Rick) Jensen, Lyons, CO; and life partner Peter Blakeslee, Lincoln, NE. Beloved aunts, uncles, close cousins, step-brothers and sister, and many, many friends mourn her passing.

DeAnn is preceded in death by her mother Judith (Weickum) Stover, stepmother Goldie (Mohr) Stover, and special kitties Harvey, Skaggs, and Atticus.

She was a beautiful person outside and in, the best big sister, and a friend to all people and animals who were fortunate enough to have known her. If you knew her, you would have witnessed her fantastic sense of humor. Her smile and laughter were infectious, and she brightened every room she entered. As her sister there was no one who could make me laugh more. Therefore, it would be a grievous omission to not mention that she was also the 1985 Dodge County Livestock Feeder Queen.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont at 2pm on May 10, 2024. The family will be present beginning at 1pm to greet friends.

As DeAnn never met an animal or person in need who she didn't want to help, the family requests Memorials to The Cat House or Friendship Home of Lincoln.

DeAnn was my classmate at law school. Her wit, her warm and often cheeky smile, her compassion, her quiet assuredness, and her kindness are all tied to my fondest memories of her. DeAnn was one of a kind, and my deep respect and fondness for her will live on. She was truly beautiful inside and out. She’s gone too soon. Sending my heartfelt, deepest condolences to all her loved ones. xx

I didn't know DeAnn well, in fact, we only had one interaction - but it has stuck with me for many years. I was a very recent graduate from Law School who had been sent to court to enter a plea. I had no idea what I was doing and inside, I was panicked. As my firm's client was being called into the court, DeAnn, sensing my nervousness, stepped up from the crowd of lawyers, touched my shoulder and kindly and calmly explained what I needed to do. She stood close by, giving me strength and confidence I needed. She didn't have to do that - but she did. My thoughts and prayers to her loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

DeAnn was such a gift. Her humor, her infectious smile and her honest love of family and friends. She always loved having fun, gardening, playing with her pets and visiting with her friends and listening to some good Rod Stewart! She is truly missed and we feel blessed to of had her in our lives.
    Forever Young 😇🙏🏼
