James F. Shotkoski, age 86, of Scribner
Died Friday, May 24, 2024 at home.

Jim was born on October 10, 1937 in Donna, Texas to Mike and Rose (Lesiak) Shotkoski. They moved to Fullerton, NE., when he was a young boy. He graduated from Fullerton High School in 1955 and served in the Army from 1955-1957. Jim returned to Fullerton and worked as a high pole lineman and then later moved to Scribner. Jim became a volunteer fireman in Scribner and worked at IPB in West Point for 32 years, until his retirement. Jim was known by his friends as 'Polack'. You often could find Jim on the Elkhorn River where he enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting morel mushrooms and air boating with many friends and family.

Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Cynthia, mother-in-law Alice Stibor, children Marty Shotkoski of Oklahoma, Carla (Jim) Swords of Washington, Dan (Deb) Pfeiffer of Texas, Kevin (Jennifer) Shotkoski of Omaha and his many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jim also leaves behind his sister-in-law Joan Shotkoski and brother-in-law PD (Georgia) Stibor.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Dorothy Langhorst, daughter-in-law Trena Shotkoski, brother Reginald Shotkoski, sister Henrietta (Keith) Nichols, brother Leonard Shotkoski, father-in-law Roger Stibor, sister-in-law Mary (Stan) Kelberlau, brother-in-law John Stibor and sister-in-law Sara (Tim) Neilsen.

Visitation will be Thursday May 30, 2024 from 4pm to 8pm with the family present 6pm to 8pm at the Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be 10am, Friday, May 31, 2024 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Scribner. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Scribner Cemetery.
