Alison J. Nielsen, age 52, of Lincoln
Died Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Bryan East.

Alison was born in Fremont, NE and spent most of her childhood and school years there, graduating from Fremont High School in 1989. After a short time working in Connecticut as a nanny, she returned and worked in Fremont until moving to Lincoln in 1994.

After a difficult battle with cancer, Alison left the pain and indignity behind for a better place with her Lord. She was preceded in death by her brother John Patrick Nielsen and all of her adored grandparents.

Alison is survived by the love of her life Terrance Willcoxon, her parents, Barb and John Nielsen, beloved step-children Jillean Taylor and her family, Noah Longwell and his family, her closest sisters, Jessica and Jacci, brother-in-law Ty and many aunts, uncles, and very close-knit cousins. Treasured friends include Tiffany Brennan and her family; also her extraordinary employer Karl Jensvoldt and his family and her co-workers. And her precious fur baby Sadie. She loved that dog like a fat kid loves cake.

Once she located in Lincoln, Alison caring heart lead her to being the leader for Jillean's girl scout troup, volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Lincoln, taught herself to knit and donated hand-made hats, scarves and mittens to several church programs to distribute. For several years she and Terrance furnished, cooked and delivered free Thanksgiving meals to people in need in their area. She was a 15-year caregiver for Home Instead in Lincoln. While employed there part-time, she took numerous classes dealing with forms of specialized care for her clients and once reached Caregiver of the Year status even though it sometimes meant missing family events and holidays in consideration of her client's needs and her co-workers with children at home.

There will be no service at this time but a celebration of her loving and generous life will be held at a later date to be announced for family and closest friends.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
