Services for Mary Jean Cotter (McCune) will be held at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont, NE on Thursday (March 24th) at 11 AM. Visitation will be at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, on Wednesday (March 23rd) from 5 to 8 PM, with a Rosary at 7 PM.

Mary Jean was born to Glen and Beryl (Kenyon) McCune on July 12, 1921 in Missouri Valley, Iowa and was a 1939 graduate of Fremont High School. In September of 1940 she married Frank Long at Saint Patrick's Church in Fremont. Mary Jean and Frank had 5 children, sons Larry (Brenda) of Holiday, Fl.; Jim (Wendy) of Gillette, WY; John of Beijing, China; Chuck (Lori) of Gretna; daughter Cheryl (Richard Brickell) of Fremont. With Frank's passing in 1972, Mary Jean remarried to Edward (Gene) Cotter in September 1973 and moved to Corning, Iowa. Gene had 2 children, Jane of Fulton, IL; and Jim of Vail, CO. In 1987, Mary Jean moved to Sun City, AZ to spend several years with her brothers and sisters, and special friend Lee Paul.

Mary Jean is also survived by brothers Bob of Henderson, NV, Bill of Sun City, AZ, and Jim of Omaha and sisters Barb of Omaha and Pat of Richardson, TX. She has also been blessed with 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren.

Mary Jean is a lifelong member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the American Legion Auxiliary. Donations can be made in her name to the charity of your choice. A heartfelt "thank you" to the staff at Silver Ridge Assisted Living in Gretna and Odyssey Hospice Health Care of Fremont for their special care and attention to our mother during this time.

A luncheon will be held after the funeral services in the Delaney Fellowship Hall inside Saint Patrick's Church in Fremont. Graveside services will be held in Corning, Iowa in Calvary Cemetery following the luncheon.
