Shirley was born Sept. 8, 1953 in the Pender, Nebraska hospital to Lenard and Betty (Hansen) Beckmann. She was baptized on Oct. 11, 1953 in St. John's Lutheran Church of Pender, and later on April 7, 1968 she was confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Bancroft, Nebraska. She grew up around Bancroft on the farm, and graduated from Bancroft High School in May of 1973.

She worked in Norfolk, then moved to Omaha, then worked for Dorothy Doht in Bancroft, and for Mrs. Nelson in Rosalie. On May 11, 1985, Shirley married Herbert Hall and they made their home in Fremont. She helped as a recess aide at a local school, and also helped at a voters booth in the Deerfield Clubhouse.

Shirley was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont for 25 years.

She is survived by her husband - Herbert
2 sons - Lenard Hall and girlfriend Heather Russell
Martin Hall, all of Fremont
mother - Betty Beckmann of Bancroft
sisters - Sharon and husband Jeff Knudtson of Fostoria, Iowa
Diane and husband Randy Buhrman of Fremont
Kaylene and husband Sterling Grell of Ashland
father-in-law - Herbert Hall of Fremont
nieces and nephews
Shirley was preceded in death by her father Lenard, and mother-in-law Ella Hall.

The funeral service will be 10 AM Wednesday (March 23, 2011) in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Fremont, with the Rev. Timothy Anderson officiating. The committal will be in the Bancroft Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Ludvigsen Mortuary on Tuesday (March 22nd) from 2 to 8 PM, with the family present from 6 to 8 PM, and at the church Wednesday morning for an hour before the service.
