Died December 17, 2024 at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
Anne Renee Goff was born on December 18, 1958, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Floyd and Donna Lorenz Goff, the first of four children. She graduated valedictorian from high school in Fremont, NE, as well as Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, and then pursued a doctoral degree at the University of Missouri in Columbia. She began her career at Convergys and then spent many years with PayPal, both in Omaha.
Anne was a voracious reader. She was driven by an immense curiosity for learning and interest in the obscure and unique. Her heart was big and her humor playful and mischievous. Often, a sparkle in her eye and the tinkle of her laughter were the foreshadowing of a loving prank played on a family member.
A love of theater was natural for her and she supported the Omaha Community Playhouse by volunteering at the box office for years. She loved theatrical performances, as well as the opera and symphony. Traveling was a thrill and she was able to visit New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Switzerland, Norway, Czech Republic, Iceland, South Africa, Canada, Austria, and many places throughout the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska.
Anne spread love through her talent as a textile artist, knitting untold numbers of beautiful Afghan blankets, hats, scarves and dishcloths for family and friends. She was always working on something. Cooking and gardening were other talents she mastered and through which she conveyed her love. Canning, soup and sauce making, baking, all brought great joy. Her yard was often full of plants for fruitful harvesting.
Anne loved solving puzzles, gaming, and playing cards with family. Innumerable personal qualities endure her to family and friends. She loved her cats; she appreciated and loved nature; she was attentive to the obscure, to learning and to the arts. Most all she loved, and was devoted to, family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jim Goff, and brother-in-law Howey Riggs.
She is survived by sister Sara (Mark) McGinnis of Omaha, sister Kathryn Riggs of LaVista, nephew Daniel Riggs with whom she had a special relationship, niece Aurora McGinnis, nephew Kyle McGinnis, other relatives, friends, and her cat Clementine.
The funeral will be 1pm, Monday, December 23, 2024 at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to FurEver Homes in Fremont.

Queen Creek, AZ Thursday, December 19, 2024 My prayers go out to Anne’s family and I’m very sorry to hear of your loss. I remember Anne in school as a quiet young lady with such long hair that she would swing it around her back, sometimes touching others with it. She was a kind person and I was lucky to have her as my classmate. I would love to know more about her life.
