Ardyce Muriel Christensen's debut into the world took place in Chappell, Nebraska on November 5, 1927, and on March 8, 2011, at 2:10 a.m. "she received her heavenly body."

Her proud parents were Edward John and Clara Amanda (Anderberg) Kanter. She was welcomed home by four older siblings, Dwain, Glenis, Clifford and Maxine. She was baptized at Berea Lutheran Church of rural Chappell. Her elementary school years were spent in a one-room schoolhouse, District 10, Prairie Glen. During her secondary school years at Deuel County High School she stayed in Chappell and her parents paid for room and board with cream and eggs. She graduated in 1944.

Luther College, in Wahoo, Nebraska, was home for the next two years where she pursued business classes. Upon graduation in 1946, she worked in the Deuel County Court House as Deputy County Treasurer. During her time there she met her future husband, Billy Ray Christensen, through her boss, John Pace, who was his uncle.

Bill and she were joined in holy matrimony on November 27, 1949 at Berea Lutheran Church of rural Chappell. They became a family of three when they welcomed their baby daughter Cheryl Ann. They moved to a farm south of Oshkosh to begin farming. The family was enlarged when God blessed them with three more children, Larry Edward, the second son Timothy Wilbert, and another daughter, Brenda Kay. Besides her homemaker job, Ardyce also helped milk cows and did field work.

The family moved to Arlington, Nebraska, in 1967.

Other jobs:
. Midwick Industries, soldering transformers, Oshkosh, Nebraska.
. Receptionist in Drs. Seng and Albee Office, Oshkosh, Nebraska.
. Bank Teller at Lisco State Bank, Lisco, Nebraska.
. After the move to Arlington, Ardyce worked at Washington County Bank, in Blair, Nebraska, as a teller.
. Worked closer to home as the Superintendent's Administrative Assistant at Arlington Public School.
. Her last place of employment before retirement in 1998, was 19 years at Fremont Medical Associates with Drs. Dilley, Adams, and Henricks, as receptionist and insurance clerk.

Ardyce was preceded in death by her husband Billy on July 13, 1993, by two brothers and a sister, and by one granddaughter, Alexa Marie, daughter of Larry and Debra.

Ardyce is survived by her two daughters: Cheryl and husband Allen Ahlers of Fremont, Brenda and husband Mike Zingler of Lincoln; and her two sons, Larry and wife Debra Christensen of New York, New York, and Timothy and wife Pam Christensen of Omaha.
She is also survived by one sister, Maxine Bruenning of Crandon, Wisconsin, two brothers-in-law, Dean Christensen, of Lodgepole, Nebraska, and Doug Riley, of Burns, Wyoming, and one sister-in-law, Ruby Kantor, of Chappell, Nebraska, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In Rememberance Remember me in the glow of the sunset, or when Robins return in the spring- Know that in life there ar ups and downs, remember beauty exists in all things. Remember me as the butterfly flutters, and drinks the sweet nector of flowers- Life is as simple as nourishment, With all, there is loving power. Remember me with the radiance of the sun, as the glow of me warms your face- When the breeze blows hair to your eyes, know it is me sending God's Grace. Remember me when a newborn cries for soon tears of joy will appear- As you gaze upon the newness of life, know that I am close to you near. Remember me as you pray at night, for this is when you sense me the most- Know that I am, and forever will be, alive, with God, as my host. May Remembering help to ease the sorrow that you feel, then bring peace and comfort to your heart. With Sincere Sympathy

Al and Cheryl Deepest sympathy to you during this great loss. Heaven's gates opened and another angel entered. May you find comfort in your many happy memories and in knowing she is safe in the arms of Jesus. Easter is such a comfort for those of us who suffer such loss.
