Died Thursday June 12, 2025 at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
Carol was born June 9, 1962 in Sioux City, Iowa to Richard and Catherine Lajiness. On May 12, 1979, she was married to Kent W McKay.
Carol's 35 plus year career with Hy-vee included multiple roles and positions. She was a service driven individual and was well loved by customers and peers alike.
Though she was proud of the boys she raised, the many trips with her friends and loved ones, spending time with her dog Sadie, she was most proud of the adventures with her granddaughter Adilynn. Whether it was horseback riding, white water rafting, being a volleyball and tennis Grandma, gardening, or the passing of knowledge and experience, no adventure was too big or small for them.
Survived by 3 sons, Eric McKay, Justin McKay (Jennifer Dierks), Michael McKay (Julie Selk), granddaughter Adilynn Rae Brown, sisters Cathy Strand, Carla Lajiness, Cheryl Gamache and brother Joseph Lajiness.
Preceding Carol in death were her parents Richard and Catherine Lajiness.

Visitation with family and friends will be at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel Sunday, June 22, 2025 from noon to 2pm.
