Send Flowers Send Flowers
Doug was born April 24, 1951 to Marion and Dorothy (Ptacnik) Lipinski in Burwell, NE. He attended school in Sargent, and then graduated from high school in Kearney, Nebraska in 1969.

In 1972 he went to work for Farmland Industries, now known as Land O' Lakes, and worked for them in maintenance until the present time.

Doug was known for his 'Doug Burger', having won an award for the best hamburger in Fremont. He also had won an award for the best hamburger at the Nebraska State Fair. He was an avid fisherman, loved the outdoors and gardening and canning. He also made jewelry.

On August 23, 1973, Doug was married to Deb Odle in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Fremont has been their home. Deb survives him, as does a sister Dorothy Ann Rawlins of Yutan, Nebraska, a brother Marion and wife Gloria Lipinski of North Platte, and many, many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marion and Dorothy, and 2 sisters, Rosemary Molloy and Donna Maria Baker.

There will be visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont on Thursday (Febr. 10th) from 2 until 7 PM. Friends are also welcome to visit at Doug's home anytime on Thursday. No further services are scheduled. Memorials are suggested to the Dodge County Humane Society.

Deb, Rosie and I were so sorry to hear about your loss. I have very fond memories of listening to fishing stories at Mom and Dad's and at your house. I guess the perch should breath a sigh of relief that one of the best fishermen has passed on. I hope you are doing well and we send our thoughts and prayers to you. Jim Schuman

I really enjoyed talking to Doug and Deb each time they came into the Rawhide Steakhouse in North Bend. I especially remember that he was very generous and randomly chose people and paid their bill. Things like that you don't forget. It takes a special person to do that. So, from all the people at the Rawhide , you have our deepest sympathy. We also will miss him. Love Marla - your cocktail waitress.

Deb, I offer my thoughts at this time, hoping you find peace knowing Doug will be missed by so very many that knew and worked with him. Lots of memories going way back to the '70's down at the mill. When I returned to Fremont as Manager, Doug worked very hard and accomplished much to his credit. He was intelligent, gifted in his work role, and he sincerely cared about his job. It is my privilege and honor to have known him. Many wonder if they have made a difference. He didn't have to wonder about that. Doug did indeed make a difference for all those in his life.

Doug was a great man and he and Deb were always good to my brother Jimmy and me. We got together at holidays an birthdays, Doug always liked to tease and pick on me and Jimmy constantly and would do the same thing back. We always had fun when we got together. Doug was a hard worker and would give anybody the shirt of his back if needed. I will miss Doug a lot.

Hi, Deb! Some things are easier to write than to say. Please understand what I'm about to share comes from my heart. YOU are in my thoughts & prayers and have been for months. At this point in your journey, I'm praying that you will experience the kind of peace that only the Spirit of God can give... it is a peace beyond description... a peace that is very real and leaves you full of joy... yes! joy even as you grieve. I share from personal experience. The Lord is real and He loves you and me... He cares about every detail of our lives and absolutely nothing is hidden from Him and He loves us in our "humanness". Don't be afraid to share your every thought with Him.
