Doug, my friend, it will sadden my wife greatly when I tell her tonite that you have passed. Before I married Cheryl, you and I shared many laughs during our youth in Fremont.I will always be extremely greatful for growing up where I did and when I did. I'm sure you felt the same way. When she first informed me that she had gotten to know you at the Prospector, my faith in more than coincidence strengthened. Your brother Tom was always a kick in the pants. Enjoyed watching him in the school plays. Until we meet again, Doug, please know that I always valued your friendship. Enjoy heaven with my brother, Pud. Kup

To the family of Doug, I was in the Nat. Guard with Doug. He was a very memorable person to know & once a friend, always a friend. I read another tribute that stated how Doug said a nice prayer & I remember how he would pray for the troops in the Guard. He will be missed. Sincerly, Dan Luben

First off I want to apologize for not being able to attend Dougs funeral, I do not have a babysitter for Presley. I remember Doug coming to visit Jo, he sure had her sense of humor...I am so sorry Roy, one should never have to bury a child. No matter the age. Although nothing will take the pain away, just know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerly, Becky Tworek

  28. Wayne and Rita Rasmussen Stanley
Wayne and I were terribly shocked to see Doug's obituary on the website of the Fremont Tribune. I remember Doug as a slightly weird, but nice kid, and especially in German class when he dressed like a German army officer for Oktoberfest (I dressed as German as I could come up with, trying to create a "dirndl" for myself). I became a Christian partly due to Doug's talking me into going to the Good News Circle concert at Fremont Auditorium in (I think!) 1973. Another life passed, way too young! Condolences to the whole family, but especially JoAnn who was always a good second mom to me in high school!
  29. Alisha Borisow
Doug was always one of the bright spots in my day when I worked at A&A Drug. He kept us on our toes and always had a witty remark. So sorry for your loss.
