On June 29, 1947 Lois was married to Donald Porter. While helping her husband farm, Lois was also very involved with her family and their church. At St. John Ridgeley Lutheran Church she played the organ, directed the Jr. and Sr. Choirs, taught Sunday School, and bible school and was part of most of the Women's organizations in the church. Lois was also President of the Senior Women's Club of Scribner. Lois was a great seamstress and wonderful cook.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband Donald in 2007 and her parents.
The funeral will be 10:30am Saturday at St. John Ridgeley Lutheran Church. The Rev. Dr. Nicki McIntyre will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. John Ridgeley Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church. Visitation will be Friday 3pm to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm at Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church.
