Ivalo was born April 13, 1919 on the family farm near Pilger, Nebraska to John and Clara (Stigge) Broekemeier. She was baptized May 11, 1919 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Wisner, Nebraska and confirmed on May 21, 1933 in St. John's Lutheran Church in Howells, Nebraska. She attended St. John's Lutheran School.

On March 31, 1938, Ivalo was married to John C. Wegner in St. John's Lutheran Church in Howells. They farmed in Cuming County until moving into Fremont in 1978.

She was preceded in death by her husband John in October of 2008, and by a sister Verona Heuerman.

grandson - Monte and wife Debbi Wegner of Bellvue, Colorado
granddaughter - June and husband Kevin Morris of Weatherford, Texas
great grandchildren - Katelin and Garret Morris of Weatherford
Lisa and husband Eric Eimen of Algonquin, Illinois
great, great grandchildren - Paige, Davis, and Hadyn Eimen of Algonquin
sister - Fern Poppe of Lincoln
brother - Wayne Broekemeier of Howells
sister-in-law - Iona Rabbass of Norfolk

The funeral service will be 10 AM Saturday (Oct. 9, 2010) at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dan Heuer officiating. The committal will follow in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, on Friday from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 PM.
