Seward, NE Sunday, September 26, 2010 Although I haven't seen Leota for almost 60 years, she looks so familiar. I remember enjoying spending time at your house. I am so sorry you lost her, even if to a better home. She will always be close, right there in your heart.Janet (Peitzmeier)Kai
Holstein, IA Friday, September 17, 2010 Virginia, Gary, Kim, Karl, Kirt & family, so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother & grandmother. She was a very beautiful person. I remember driving past her home in Hooper, and she was either on her porch enjoying the day or she was tending to her beautiful flowers. She was a great woman. My deepest sympathies are with you at this time.Donald Firnhaber
Mesa,, AZ Wednesday, September 15, 2010 When I was attending Hooper High School (1944-1948) I would often be hired by Shorty and had the good pleasure of sitting at Leota's dinner table on many occasions. I was not only a friend of Leota's since 1944, but also close to Shorty...singing in a quartet with him at Immanuel Lutheran Church .... playing trumpet with he and several other guys in a little polka band that used to practice in the Telbasta Store .... Many memories .... Virginia, I want you to know that I sincerely share your grief ..... your mother was a real lady, and I will always remember her.Bob & Chris

Las Vegas, NV Wednesday, September 8, 2010 When it comes to sweetness and love my Aunt Leota was without peer. She is one of my Godparents and our gracious and loving Lord had something for her to do. It would be easy to be sorrowful and selfish to the point of wanting her to stay with us here for awhile instead I will choose to celebrate the time we shared while on earth together. I know she is reunited now with so many who love her and have passed before. The celebration of her arrival in heaven I know was triumphant and joyful and I'm sure my Dad had quite a musical to-do going on throughout. I don't believe in good-byes as that carries an air of permanence and for us that is not ever the case. I choose instead to say that I'll see you again soon Aunt Leota for our time here is brief by comparison to the eternity that awaits the faithful. It's our time to remember and never forget. You betcha.Harold & Jo Ann Karl
