Erma was born October 27, 1915 on the family farm in Cuming County near West Point. Her parents were Henry and Anna (Furchert) Jahnke. She grew up in Beemer where she went to school.

On January 27, 1935, Erma was married in St. John's Lutheran Church, Beemer, to Elmer G. Schoch. They farmed south of Pender until Elmer's death in 1951. In 1952, Erma moved to Fremont.

Upon her move to Fremont, she became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and later she became a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her son Norman Schoch Sr, and wife Meredith of Plattsmouth, NE

6 great grandchildren

Preceding her in death were her husband Elmer, 4 brothers and a sister.

The funeral service will be 10 AM Thursday (May 6, 2010) at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with the Rev. Timothy Anderson officiating. The committal will be at 1 PM in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery south of Pender.

Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and to Midland Women.

Visitation at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, will be on Wednesday (May 5th) from 2 to 8 PM, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM.
