Gordy was a quiet American Hero. He designed the "box" for us at the Phi Delt house and put up with a TON of BS from a bunch of rowdy guys whom he knew would turn out OK. We did and we will miss Gordy. BZ - Fair winds and following seas Gordy. Dave Dahl, MA, JD Navy Pilot, Patriot Jax Beach Fl

Dear Nancy, Mike & Jeff and all of your families: I was sorry to hear of Gordy's passing. Our thoughts are with you and all of your families. It was nice to see the mention of the TNE fraternity in his obituary, however. You don't see that in obituaries very often. It made me realize I had forgotten to list TNE in my dad's obituary as I found his membership card and I knew they were in it together. When Mike and Jeff were in college, it was a pleasure to see Gordy occasionally as he visited our fraternity for Father's day or for football games and he was always in a good mood. I still laugh about his telling the story on how he initiated the famous Johnny Carson into his fraternity by locking him in the trunk of his car and then driving over railroad tracks and various rough spots in Lincoln. He will truly be missed.

I grew up in Fremont with both of Mr. Jenkin's sons, Mike and Jeff. We respectfully referred to him as Gordy. I have nothing but good memories of the many hours we spent in their home. In reading his obituary I must admit that I had no idea about his military service or his distinguished honors. He was obviously a modest man. I think his sons would agree with me that we were indeed fortunate to have grown up where we did, when we did. I'm sure my brother Pud was there to welcome him into heaven. Thank you for the memories, Jenkins. Much love- Kup.

I want to express my sincere sympathy to the family and close friends. As you well know, Gordy was such a special guy, full of life and knowledge. I can't help but smile as I remember him. I had the pleasure and blessing of him as a mentor, teacher and friend when I started out in the business.
